Police Arrest Suspects Wanted in Two Separate Newark Robberies
Police have arrested two suspects who reportedly robbed two people in separate incidents almost a month apart in Newark.
According to police, at approximately 3:30 p.m., on Dec. 29, 2017, three suspects robbed a man in the 900-block of South Orange Avenue.
Pilice said the suspects took cash shortly before attacking the victim at that location.
EMS transported the victim to East Orange General Hospital for treatment then doctors released him.
Detectives investigating the incident developed sufficient evidence to identify Altariq A. Cotton, 23, as a suspect in this incident and secured a warrant for his arrest.
Police located Cotton Sunday in the same area where the robbery occurred then charged him with Robbery and Conspiracy.
According to police, in the second robbery, on Jan. 27th, at approximately 1:15 p.m., officers met with a man who claimed he was robbed by a male suspect after agreeing to meet with the victim to sell a mobile phone.
Police said the suspect took the victim's cash after two additional suspects arrived and began to attack the victim.
Investigating detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Garrett Harding, 19, as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
